Questions? Please read “How To Use Practice Files” below.
How To Use Practice Files:
Practice files are audio files that play your part louder than the other parts. Whenever possible, there will be links to audio files (such as mp3 files) that you can download. Alternatives may also be provided, such as links to Youtube videos; links to Web sites; and MIDI files.
Slowing down audio files: You may want to slow down mp3 files to play at a slower tempo. Here are links that purport to tell you how to do this — (1) Slow playback speed in Windows Media Player — (2) Slow down playback speed online at Audiotrimmer Web site — (3) Android and iOS apps to slow down playback speed (Mary Regan of the Cinnabar Singers recommends “Music Speed Changer” for Android, or “AnyTune” or “Audipo” for iOS).

Nachtgesang im Wald
Translations
Franz Schubert “Nachtgesang im Wald”
Be ever greeted by us, O night! but doubly so here in the forest, where your eye laughs stealthily, where your footstep echoes more softly! Upon the branches’ leafy goblet you pour out your silver; you hang the moon with its ray for us as a lamp in the leaf-house.
Whispering breezes are your speech, spinning rays are your threads; whatever your mouth soothingly touches lowers its eye and sinks into sleep!
And yet, it is too beautiful to sleep; therefore up! and awaken, with the blare of horns, with the surging of brighter sounds, what earlier lay benumbed in slumber: up! up! up!
Already there is stirring in the bowers of the forest; the little birds believe the night has fled; the wandering deer timidly slip away; they imagine it will soon turn to day; the treetops roar with might— from the spring it resounds as if it had awakened!
Already there is stirring in the bowers of the forest; the little birds believe the night has fled; the wandering deer timidly slip away; they imagine it will soon turn to day; the treetops roar with might— from the spring it resounds as if it had awakened!
And if we call in song: “The night makes its home in the forest,” then Echo too calls for long: “It is at home in the forest!”
Therefore be doubly greeted here in the forest, O lovely night, where everything that paints you fair for us smiles upon us far more beautifully; therefore be doubly greeted here in the forest, O lovely night!
Here in the forest be greeted, lovely, lovely night, lovely night!
